Russian crt approves Euroset, Samsung 1.2 bln rbl amicable deal
MOSCOW, Dec 13 (PRIME) -- The Moscow Arbitration Court has approved an amicable agreement in a 1.2 billion ruble dispute between South Korea’s Samsung and Russian handset retailer Euroset on Tuesday.
The case proceedings were terminated. The conditions of the amicable settlement were not disclosed.
Samsung Electronics Rus Company filed the lawsuit to the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry seeking compensation for a delay in payments for delivery of smartphones in 2012–2015 after a contract between the companies had been dissolved. The commercial court satisfied the suit in September.
Euroset refused to respect the decision and filed a suit to the Moscow Arbitration Court, while Samsung Electronics Rus Company asked the court to recognize the commercial court’s ruling and make the retailer obey. The Moscow Arbitration Court united the cases in October.
Earlier in December, Samsung announced plans to sign an amicable agreement with Euroset.
